Every year, the AFP Greater Toronto Chapter hosts Congress, an engaging and thought-provoking, 3-day conference attended by 1,000 fundraising professionals from across the country.
Four the past four consecutive years, WISHART has been creating work that commands attention and attracts wider, younger, and more diverse audiences than ever before.
In 2018, Congress Chair Ann Rosenfield, wanted something ‘bold and breakthrough’ in terms of the conference’s tired brand. We worked diligently to create something that had never been done before: create dozens of glitched, chaotic and purposefully disruptive images to showcase the theme of ‘Disruption.’
We photographed well-known fundraisers and then seriously messed with them. The impact of seeing these fractured and fragmented photos on a 100-foot-long screen in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre’s main hall was incredible; people audibly gasped when they entered the room.
Rather than simply show you more of our award-winning work, we thought it would be fun to share the stuff that got cut, the work that landed on and then littered the cutting room floor. More disturbing than disruptive, here’s some of what got the axe in 2018.
And then, more recently, we include three concepts from 2020’s “Money, Death and Sex,” a conference that was deep-sixed thanks to a worldwide pandemic.
Everyone has an opinion; which of these approaches do you like best?
