Years ago, as a third-year student at OCA (now OCAD), John recalls looking around and seeing students’ work covering every wall and window. Twenty senior students were expected to share three or more concepts based on a classroom assignment and it was clear that there was no ‘one right answer.’ The effect on John was significant: to limit oneself to just one or two approaches is to give short-shrift to the work.
At WISHART, clients pay for our best thinking which is why we think it best to consider numerous approaches before landing on a few. Even so, sometimes the creative briefing and subsequent client consultations open the floodgates to a wave of options.
In times like these, we pour it on!
PRESENTATION ONE: 24 logos with 12 applications
PRESENTATION TWO: 7 logos
PRESENTATION THREE: 2 finalist logos: 7 options of each with a total of 42 colour combinations
After a great deal of discussion and prayerful consideration, the committee at the downtown Burlington church made ONE unanimous decision.
Of course, the logo is only the beginning.
Together, Wellington Square United Church and wishart created a new website informed by the new logo and approach to branding. Now, WSquare has a cohesive brand and website that is easy to follow – because they helped design it themselves.
